Scan Document
Turn a photo of a paper into a clean, straight scan. Save it as an image or a PDF.
or pick one from your device
Choose photoHow to scan a document with your phone
- Choose a photo of your document, or drop it on the box.
- Drag the four yellow dots onto the corners of the paper. The tool straightens the page for you.
- Pick a look: Color keeps the colors, Gray and Black and white are best for text.
- Download the image, or download a PDF to send or print.
Tips for a good scan
- Put the paper on a flat, dark surface. The corners are easier to see, and the paper does not curl.
- Take the photo in bright, even light. Avoid shadows from your hand or phone, and turn off the flash if it makes a glare.
- Hold the phone straight above the paper. The tool fixes a slanted photo, but a straight one gives the sharpest text.
- Use Black and white for plain text pages. It makes the paper white and the writing dark, and gives a small file.
- Use Color for ID cards, stamps and anything with coloured ink or a photo.
Common questions
Is my document uploaded?
No. The photo is processed in your browser on your device and is not sent to a server. This matters for IDs and other private papers.
Why do the corners need to be set by hand?
Every photo is different, a paper on a table, a page in a book, an ID card on a desk. Setting the four corners yourself is more reliable than guessing, and it takes a few seconds.
Can I scan an ID card or a certificate?
Yes. Use Color to keep the colours. The result is only a clean copy of your photo, so check what the form asks for. Some offices want the original colours and a specific size.
How do I make a multi-page PDF?
Scan each page and download it as a PDF, then join the files with Merge PDF.
Why is my scan blurry?
A scan cannot add detail that the photo did not capture. Retake the photo in better light, closer to the page, and hold the phone steady.
