How to make a QR code
- Pick Link or text, or Wi-Fi.
- Type or paste what the code should hold. The code updates as you type.
- Press Download PNG for sharing and printing, or Download SVG for a sharp result at any size.
Tips
- Test the code with your own phone before you print it or send it out.
- Shorter text makes a simpler code that is easier to scan. A short link works better than a long one.
- Keep a dark code on a light background, and leave the white border around it. Scanners need it.
- Use High error correction if the code will be printed on something that can get scratched or stained. It makes the code denser, so print it a little bigger.
- For print, SVG stays sharp at any size. For a post or a message, PNG is simpler.

Common questions
Is it free, and does the code expire?
It is free. The code holds the text itself, so it never expires and does not depend on Velfile.
Is what I type uploaded?
No. The code is made in your browser on your device. Your link, text and Wi-Fi password are not sent to a server.
Can I put a Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
Yes. Choose Wi-Fi, enter the network name and password, and print the code. Guests scan it and connect. Anyone who can scan the code can read the password, so only share it where you would share the password.
How much can a QR code hold?
Up to about 2,900 characters, but short is better. The more it holds, the denser and harder to scan it gets.
Which format should I download?
PNG for most uses. SVG when you print it large, such as on a poster or a sign.
