How to use it
- Choose a PDF or drop it on the box.
- Type the watermark text, then pick the style, colour, size and strength. Leave Pages empty to mark every page.
- Press Add watermark, then Download PDF.
Tips
- Short words work best, such as DRAFT, COPY, PAID or CONFIDENTIAL.
- Keep Strength low, around 20 to 30 percent, so the page stays easy to read.
- Diagonal fits most documents. Choose Straight for a neat line across the middle of the page.
- Use a watermark to mark who a copy is for, such as a name and date, before you share it.
- The watermark is written onto the page in a new file. Your original PDF is not changed.
Common questions
Can I use any letters?
Letters, numbers and common symbols work, including accented letters used in European languages. Scripts such as Chinese, Arabic or emoji cannot be written with the built-in font.
Can the watermark be removed?
It is drawn onto the page, so it is not a switch you can turn off. Someone with a PDF editor may still be able to remove it, so do not rely on it as protection.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Type the pages in the Pages box, such as 1-3 or 2, 5. Leave it empty to mark every page.
Can I add an image or logo?
Not yet. This tool adds text only.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The file is processed in your browser on your device and is not sent to a server.
