Tips
- It works best on photos of people, with the face and shoulders clearly visible and good light.
- A plain wall behind you gives cleaner edges, especially around hair.
- Transparent saves a PNG, which is larger. White, Red and Blue save a JPG, which is easier to upload.
- For an ID photo, check the background colour and size the form asks for. Use Red or Blue here, then fix the size with Crop Image or Resize Image.
- If the edges look rough, try a photo with more even light and no strong shadows.
Common questions
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Your photo stays on your device and is processed in your browser. Only the AI model file is downloaded, from public servers (jsDelivr and Hugging Face), and your photo is never sent there.
Why does it take longer the first time?
The first time, your browser downloads the model, about 25 MB. Later visits reuse it, so it starts faster. On a slow connection the first run can take a minute.
Does it work on objects, products or animals?
It is tuned for people, so it works best on portraits. Products and animals can come out with rough or missing edges.
How big is the result?
The same size as your photo. Very large photos are scaled down so the longest side is at most 2500 px, to keep your browser from running out of memory.
Can I use it for a red or blue ID photo?
Yes, pick Red or Blue. The exact shade differs between offices, so check what your form asks for and use a different editor if you need a precise colour code.
